40to60sCLT ("we," "us," "our") runs this website (40to60s.com) to help adults in their 40s, 50s, and 60s in the Charlotte area connect, meet up, and build community. This page explains what information we collect when you visit or use our site, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

The short version: We collect the info you give us — like your name and email when you sign up, RSVP, or join as a VIP member — so we can run events, keep you in the loop, and let you connect with other members. We don't sell your information, and we only share it where it's needed to run the site (like our payment processor for VIP dues). You can ask us to update or delete your info any time by emailing.

Information you give us directly
Contract and RSVP forms
When you fill out a contact form or RSVP to an event, we collect what you enter — typically your name, email address, and any message or details relevant to that event.
Membership sign-up (VIP Access):
If you join as a VIP member, we collect the information needed to set up and bill your membership. Payment card details are handled directly by our payment processor through Wix Payments — we don't see or store your full card number.
Member profile and community info:
If you create a member account or join our on-site community (Wix Groups / Members Area), we collect the profile information you choose to add — such as your name, photo, and an "About Me" introduction. Some of this may be visible to other members, particularly in the private member directory available to VIP members.
Mailing list:
If you sign up to hear about upcoming events and news, we collect your email address (and name, if you provide it) to send you updates.

Cookies - Analytics
Like most websites, ours runs on the Wix platform, which uses cookies and similar technology to make the site work, remember your preferences, and give us basic visitor analytics (like how many people visit and which pages are popular). We don't use this to identify you individually beyond what's needed to operate the site.

How we share your information

Other members: If you join our Members Area or the private member directory, certain profile information (like your name, photo, and "About Me" info) may be visible to other logged-in members, as part of how the community feature works.

Your choices

Mailing list: You can unsubscribe from group emails at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly.

Access, update, or delete your info: You can ask us to see what information we have about you, correct it, or delete it, by emailing hello@40to60s.com. We'll respond as quickly as we can.
Children's privacy
40to60sCLT is a community for adults and isn't directed at or intended for use by anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we rely in part on the security built into the Wix platform and our payment processor. That said, no website can guarantee perfect security, so please use good judgment about what you share with us.
Changes to this statement
If we make meaningful changes to how we collect or use your information, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above. If the changes are significant, we'll try to let members know directly.
